Laser vein removal therapy is a non-invasive treatment. The laser uses pulses of laser energy to target the vein. Many patients claim that it feels like a stinging sensation. The laser is absorbed by an irregular blood vessel, and the light of the laser is converted into heat energy. This process destroys the blood vessel and causes it to collapse and seal shut, eventually being absorbed by the body over time.

There is little-to-no downtime with laser vein treatments. Normal activities may be resumed the following day when undergoing laser therapy. Patients may be advised to wear compression stockings for some time after the procedure to ensure complete results.
